Our Policies

Program:  Notes Music Academy (NMA) offers progressive ongoing 4-Lesson programs that include one on one private lessons, band rehearsals, music appreciation and master class workshops plus participation in a live band that will perform at regularly scheduled concerts.

Materials: Students are responsible for the purchase of any required materials including but not limited to; books, manuscript paper, recordable media such as blank CD's or drives for MP3's and recorded music for lesson reference.

Equipment: Students are welcome to use any available musical instruments and equipment at any given time for use in private lessons or for personal practice at NMA. Students are responsible for any damage to NMA owned equipment. Students are advised to purchase or rent their own equipment for personal practice and performance. NMA may offer assistance and guidance in renting or purchasing musical equipment, as necessary.

Results: Notes Music Academy offers a comprehensive and thorough musical education which includes recommended practice schedules and techniques. Results are the responsibility of the individual student and will vary depending on a variety of factors including student input and practice, progress however, is expected. NMA's focus is on progress and a sense of achievement.

Attendance:  It is the responsibility of the student / parents to notify their teacher 24 hrs in advance of a canceled lesson. A no-call, no-show will be counted as a paid for/completed private lesson. A total of 1 canceled lesson (with makeup) is permitted per 4-lesson package, per student,  and 3 canceled lessons (with makeup) is permitted per semester package, per student and 5 cancelled lessons (with makeup) is permitted per Deluxe package, per student.

Vacation: Lessons at Notes Music Academy continue as regularly scheduled throughout the summer months June through August with an allocation of one 4-week pause per student, per year. Students choosing to pause their lesson schedule are required to give a 2-week minimum notice and are given the option to reserve their lesson slot moving forward when they resume. Any student exceeding their 4-week pause, will not be guaranteed their selected time slot upon return.

Conduct: Respect for law and for those persons in authority shall be expected of all students. This includes conformity to general provisions of law regarding minors. Respect for the rights of others, consideration of their privileges, and cooperative citizenship will be expected of all members of the Notes Music Academy community.  Respect for real and personal property; personal standards of courtesy, decency, and honesty will be maintained at all times.

Student conduct on or adjacent to Notes Music Academy’s premises and at Notes Music Academy-related events and activities shall be governed by the rules and provisions expressed above. In addition, student conduct on internet-based social media outlets, such as Facebook, Twitter , MySpace, YouTube, etc. when such conduct forms a sufficient connection to school or staff, is governed by same expressed principals.

ADA Policy Statement:  Notes Music Academy (NMA) welcomes participants (including students, teaching artists, guest performers, Board and Advisory Committee members) and audience members of all abilities. The policy of the NMA is to ensure equal opportunity for all people to participate in and benefit from programs and activities regardless of race, gender, national origin, color, age, religion, sexual orientation, marital status or ability.

Notes Music Academy reserves the right to cancel student agreements without refund in cases where student is in violation of the expressed principles of conduct or contract.

"By virtue of registration, participants in NMA programs agree to abide by NMA policies and code of conduct, and understand that photos and videos taken by NMA could be utilized in future promotions.

Payment: A non-refundable payment, in full is due at the time of application and will be applied to any block of lesson type. Tuition invoices for continuing lesson blocks are sent after the last lesson of the student's current block and therefore students pay in advance for their next block of lessons.
