General Information
Lessons:
All our lesson packages are designed to be scheduled once a week on consecutive weeks. So our 4-lesson package usually last about a month (4 weeks), our Semester package usually lasts about 3 1/2 months (14 weeks), and our Deluxe package lasts around 7 months (28 weeks).
Our Single-Session lessons are designed for those who cannot commit to consecutive lessons or for those who would like to get a feel for the school and teacher before committing to a package. Single-Sessions come in 30-min and 60-min options.
We have two different lesson types. Individual lessons are your typical 1-on-1 private lessons and our buddy lessons are when 2 students are in a private lesson together with the same teacher. Buddy lessons require both students to be learning the same instrument.
Lesson Lengths:
We offer 30-min, 45-min, and 60-min options for each of our packages. For adult beginners and children under 12 years old, we recommend beginning with the 30-min lesson to avoid the student from being overwhelmed and burning out. It’s always possible to switch to a different lesson length as our clients see fit.
Little Notes:
Little Notes is 45-min interactive music class for little ones from 4 months up to 5 years old. A semester is 11 classes which spans almost 3 months. Our drop-in option is designed for clients who feel they cannot commit to a semester. There are no reservations available for drop-in and payment and information must be taken before the class begins.
Payment:
A non-refundable payment in-full is due at the time of application (at least 3 business days prior to the desired scheduled lesson date) and will be applied to any bock of lesson type. Tuition invoices for continuing lesson blocks are sent via email after the last lesson of the student’s current block and therefore student’s pay in advance for their next block of lessons. Payments can be made online (on our Pricing page), over the phone, or in our studio located in the Fruitvale district.
Scheduling:
Scheduling can only be done by the front desk attendant. We can be reached at (510) 575-3937, at notesfrontoffice@gmail.com, or in the studio Monday-Friday 12 pm - 8 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. If you are ready to schedule your music lesson, please reach out to us with the lesson times/days that you prefer.
Cancellations:
It is the responsibility of the student/parents to notify their teacher or the front office (notesfrontoffice@gmail.com or (510) 575-3937) 24 hrs in advance of a canceled lesson. A no-call, no-show or late notification (after the 24 hour period) will be counted as a paid for/completed lesson. A total of 1 canceled lesson (with makeup) is permitted per 4-lesson package per student, 3 canceled lessons (with makeup) is permitted per semester package per student and 5 canceled lessons (with makeup) is permitted per Deluxe package per student.
For longer vacations or lesson “pauses”, a two-week minimum notice are required. Students are given the option to reserve their lesson slot moving forward when they resume only as long as their vacation or lesson “pause” does not exceed 4 weeks. Any student exceeding their 4-week pause will not be guaranteed their selected time slot upon return.
